Over the past few years, reasons for wearing ID badges have changed greatly. The initial reasons employers provided ID badges for their employees were not necessarily for security. Perhaps the original idea at the back of practicing the use of ID badges was that the co-workers should display their names and the visitor or a customer should be identified. The present day requirements for use of ID badges have gone beyond that and may include community and friendliness concerns along with security and process measures.

Regardless for the reasons that an organization requires the wearing of ID badges, many employees dislike wearing their card. Employees have their own reasons for doing so. Despite their small size and price, attachments are important.   If the ID could conveniently be worn at  an appropriate spot while on job, the attitude of employees will completely change. Badges may impose a restriction on the movements of an employee working on a machine and this could cause an accident. Providing a well designed badge holder that suits a specific job is the best way of making the employees to willingly accept the use of ID cards.
